A brief note

Why am I here? Well, it’s my website, so why not?
My lifelong interest in art has always been absorbing, as well as great fun, and, over time, became a release from the competitiveness and stress of my day job.

Years ago, I spent some time listening to and learning from an art teacher in Morley, Lydia Sala. This was mostly about analysing and copying Old Master techniques that she favoured because of her European background. I also learned a lot from Michael Shannon whenever he was in Perth. George Haynes was gracious enough to let me accompany him on a number of painting trips. And then, there was the endless talking, lunching and drinking, and occasional bickering, with many of the local, gifted, art community.
Today, I am trying to master digital art. It may have a future. I have been a Photoshop nut for over 30 years. These days there is also Corel Painter, as well as Krita (great and free), Affinity, Sketchbook (also free), Celsys’ Clip Studio, and many other good programmes.

Give it a go!
