A brief note 

DAVID LEWIS was born in Wigan in 1955. He studied at the Leeds Polytechnic from 1974 to 1978, and he won the Yorkshire Arts Association Award in 1983. In 1990 he moved to live and work in France where he also lectures in Fine Art. This photoshopped image shows David at his studio/farm house in Cerisy La Salle in France. 

We brought David to Perth in 1988 to participate in the Festival of Perth. He left Leeds, where the temperature was about 10C, and arrived here just before Christmas.

He left Perth almost immediately and headed to Payne's Find to experience quite different painting conditions. It was about 47C! However, he was up to the task, and returned to Perth with a new batch of work which we added to his European works for the Festival show.
